Former Providence officer to face a judge after narcotics operation arrest

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A former Providence police officer is facing a judge after a month-long narcotics investigation.

25-year-old Destiny Viera faces multiple charges including three felonies for manufacturing, delivery and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Viera was a probationary officer with Providence police and she started work with the department last year in September.

Viera was arraigned at Sixth District Court.
