Former RI National Guardsman to be sentenced in 2019 murder, mutilation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A former Rhode Island National Guard member will be sentenced today after his conviction in a grisly July 2019 murder.

Troy Ingram, 27, was convicted of killing and mutilating 41-year-old Mohsin Muhammad in Providence six years ago.

Ingram murdered Muhammad in his Jewett Street apartment in Providence with arriving police finding the victim’s mutilated body.

Ingram confessed to committing the murder to police the following day.

His sentencing will be held at 9:30 a.m.
