Former special assistant attorney general pleads guilty to denying breathalyzer test

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A former special assistant attorney general pleaded guilty Monday to denying a breathalyzer test after being arrested on July 4 for DUI in Barrington.

Craig Berke, assistant state court administrator, told ABC 6 News Wednesday that Edward Mullaney will have a “30-day license  suspension, followed by 4 months of an ignition interlock device on his vehicle, community service, alcohol education.”

Berke said Mullaney’s suspicion of DUI case was dismissed by the prosecution.

Mullaney was placed on leave prior to submitting his resignation from his position on July 6.
