BOSTON, MASS. — A former priest accused of sexual assault at St. George’s school in Middletown pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.
75-year-old Howard “Howdy” White is charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy in the early 1970’s.
White is accused of bringing the student to a hotel in Boston on two occasions and sexually assaulting him.
Prosecutors say the teen eventually confronted White before telling the school.
“The defendant told the alleged victim, I’ll tell you what. It’s not going to stop. If you try to stop I’ll make your life difficult,” said Audrey Mark; Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney.
After being fired from St. George’s, White worked as an Episcopal priest in other states, but never lived in Massachusetts. Right now, he lives in Pennsylvania.
White was removed from the priesthood this fall.
