Four families displaced after Providence fire

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Four families are displaced and an appliance store is closed following a fire Friday morning on Academy Avenue.

The fire broke out at around 9 Friday morning.

The four-story building is home to Danny’s Appliance Store and multiple apartments.

Providence’s assistant fire chief said the nature of the building made firefighting more difficult.
