Foxboro, Mass. — The Patriots are set to take the field Thursday tonight for a primetime matchup with the Houston Texans.

But off the field, law enforcement will be amping up security after the recent bombings in New York and New Jersey.

Massachusetts State Police confirmed that there have been no credible threats to the region, but they are not taking any chances with this high profile game tonight.

The violence in New York prompted the FBI Boston division to confer with security teams at Gillette Stadium earlier this week about the high-profile game.

According to state police, the Commonwealth Fusion Center in Maynard, which shares intel nationwide, is monitoring intelligence related to the explosion.

The head of Boston’s FBI division spoke earlier this week saying that the fusion centers play a crucial role in allowing venues to stay informed and plan their security details accordingly.

“We work very closely with Gillette and the Patriots regarding security. Individuals with access to the security apparatus can make an informed decision in terms of whether they need to harden their specific venues.”

Troopers will also be increasing their present on public transit, including the T and the commuter rails.

Fans coming to the game are being told to arrive early to avoid any delays from the increased security. The kickoff is set for 8:25 p.m. Thursday night.
