Franklin man pleads not guilty in crash that killed mother and daughter

FRANKLIN, Mass. (WLNE) — Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said that a Franklin man pled not guilty to manslaughter and drunk driving charges in connection with a crash that killed a mother and daughter in May.

22-year-old James Blanchard V was held on $250,000 cash bail.

Blanchard was accused of driving drunk and causing a crash on Grove Street in Franklin that killed 38-year-old Minaben Patel and her 5-year-old daughter.

Patel’s 14-year-old son was also injured in the crash.

Blanchard was ordered to refrain from using alcohol and submit to testing and not drive a motor vehicle while his case is pending.

He is due back in court on Dec. 22.
