Franklin Police investigating 2 vandalism incidents

FRANKLIN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Franklin Police Department said it is investigating a vandalism incident at Temple Etz Chaim on Washington Street as well as on East Central Street that both occurred on April 2.

The department said that red paint was splattered onto a small “We Stand With Israel” yard sign in front of the temple, as well as on a light and solar panel which illuminated the sign.

The solar panel was also partially torn off its bracket.

On East Central Street, e a swastika symbol was spray painted on the ground in black spray paint.

The department said there was no evidence that the two incidents were related but the “possibility is not being ruled out.”

Anyone with information on either incident was asked to contact Detective Jack Flynn at 508-440-2720 or jflynn@franklinma.gov.
