FREETOWN, Mass. (WLNE) — Police said they’re currently looking for three individuals after they allegedly tried to break into a home on Sunday in Freetown.

It happened around 1:43 a.m., according to police, when the caller was inside the home, confronted the suspects, and was assaulted.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered signs of forced entry and a disarrayed interior.

Police said while the items were stolen, some were abandoned by the suspects and recovered nearby.

The alleged suspects were described as three males: one described as a black male, approximately 6″ in height with an average build, wearing a mask, and two described as heavy-set black males, one of whom reportedly had dreadlocks.

A thorough search of the property was conducted with the assistance of mutual aid, including K-9 units and the use of a drone.

Despite the extensive search, no suspects were located at the time.
