Freetown Police respond to disturbance at gas station involving 300 vehicles
FREETOWN, Mass. (WLNE) — The Freetown Police Department said it responded to a disturbance at the Neon Marketplace Gas Station on Innovation Way on March 1 that involved over 300 vehicles.
The department said the vehicles “gathered on the property, engag[ed] in erratic and reckless driving, obstruct[ed] access to the gas station, and caus[ed] a public disturbance.”
Police said they learned that the gathering was part of a private vehicle event with hired private security, although “several” physical altercations had taken place and a firearm had been displayed.
Mutual aid was provided by the Fall River Police Department, Lakeville Police Department, Berkley Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police.
