PC doesn’t yet know who they will play, but they don’t much care either. What they do know is they are ready and excited to get a chance to win a national championship. “You ready to go? Yes sir, business trip,” Friars stat guard Kris Dunn said.
Dunn and the rest of the Friars are more than ready to get down to business.
The team departed from Providence this morning, bound for Columbus, Ohio ahead of Friday night’s game against either Dayton or Boise State.
“Yea it is going to be a really big week,” PC Head Coach Ed Cooley said. “I am really proud of our kids and perseverance. Any time you get a chance to get on the national stage we are about to get on and give ourselves a chance to advance that’s what it is about. Win and advance.”
The Friars will gather as a team tonight to watch that game and scout their next opponent.
“Just being able to scout them and the coaching staff will do a great job in preparing us for whatever the teams come with, so we just have to be prepared mentally for it,” senior LaDontae Henton said.
Meanwhile, President Barack Obama completed his brackets today. The President does not have faith in the Friars. He picked Dayton to beat PC on Friday.
“Well the President is entitled to his opinion. But he is probably going to be wrong. so. Go Obama,” Cooley said.
