Friday forecast: Staying on muggy side with scattered rain showers

This is a graphic of the 7-Day Forecast. (WLNE)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — We’ll stay on the muggy side today with partial hazy sunshine, but there will be a shower around for midday. Then, we’re back to partial sunshine for the afternoon that will help to trigger another round of showers and storms to our west later in the day.

However, as they move eastward toward RI they will tend to fall apart. Finally, the approach of a frontal boundary from the west will move across the region later this evening. That will set off more showers and perhaps a thunderstorm.

This particular round could produce some briefly heavy rainfall around 10 p.m.-midnight.

Once that clears, we’ll be in store for a delightful weekend with lowering dewpoint temperatures, meaning it will feel quite comfortable for summer along with dry weather all weekend long!
