Friday Morning Forecast: Too Much of a Good Thing

Friday Morning Forecast

There’s definitely such thing as too much of a good thing.

That’s the case when it comes to the forecast as of late. While all this sunshine, I imagine, has been a joy for the sake of your plans, what we could reeeeally use right about now is some rain. We’ve had NO measurable rain in Providence during the month of November, and we won’t change that today.

After starting the day in the 30s and 40s, we’ll end up in the low to mid 60s with plenty of sun. It will be quite windy, with speeds between 10-15 mph, and gust in the mid to upper 30s. Because of the dry, windy, and overall warm conditions, we have a Red Flag Warning in place through 6 PM this evening. That means outdoor burning is seriously discouraged. I’d also suggest not mowing the lawn, and avoid parking your car on dry, grassy areas. You’d be shocked at how much damage just one spark in the wrong place can do!

The weekend, while much cooler, looks beautiful overall! Saturday will be in the low 50s and windy again, but with plenty of sun! Bundle up and get outside! We’ll be warmer Sunday, with temperatures in the upper 50s by the afternoon. We’ll see more clouds creep in throughout the day on Sunday.

Perhaps the best news of the next few days comes Sunday night into Monday morning, as we actually have a real chance of rain with our next impactful area of low pressure. Hooray! While this rain won’t bust the drought, it will certainly help calm our wildfire-prone conditions. Rain should depart by mid-morning, so if you have afternoon plans for Veteran’s Day, the rain shouldn’t be an issue
