Frosty Mornings Ahead
If you spent your weekend getting your plants in the ground, you’ll likely need to cover them up several days this week or bring them inside to plant another week. We have some cold nights slated this week and frost is likely. Starting with tonight, overnight lows will drop into the low to mid-30s resulting in patches of frost and a Frost Advisory has been issued for all of Southern New England with the exception of Nantucket as a result. The Advisory will be in effect from midnight tonight through Monday morning at 7am and is issued when tender vegetation is at risk. Plants at risk will need to be covered or brought inside to protect them. Tonight isn’t the only night when frost is possible. Tuesday morning will be cold too, but sunshine will bring high temperatures near 60. Clouds build in Wednesday and there is a chance of showers as a cold front moves through. The cold air behind the front will drop lows into the frost zone Thursday and Friday mornings too. Both Thursday and Friday will be sunny and temperatures will top out once again near 60. Saturday is looking nice with mostly sunny with highs in the lower 60s.
