Fugitive wanted on 3 separate warrants arrested in Fall River

A Fall River fugitive wanted on three separate warrants was arrested earlier this week, according to authorities.
Massachusetts State Police said Melvin Arias-Brown, 22, was arrested Wednesday morning. He was wanted on charges of assault, armed robbery, and other crimes.
On the morning of April 20, police said they had been keeping track of the 22-year-old when he got into a ride-share on Snell Street.
Troopers followed the Chevrolet Malibu as it drove off. It ultimately pulled into a parking lot on Rodman Street.
There, police said, a woman got out of the car and went inside a store. Arias-Brown stayed in the car.
When he noticed the troopers, the suspect jumped out of the driver’s seat side door but was immediately captured, said authorities.
Police said after a struggle, Arias-Brown was handcuffed. Troopers found a Ruger SR-40 handgun with 10 in the magazine in his waistband. They also found a folding knife and 40 Suboxone strips in his possession.
Police said they later learned that the gun was stole in Avon on April 7.
Arias-Brown was charged with the three outstanding warrants of Brockton District Court.
The 22-year-old also faced new charged from Wednesday’s arrested.
