Fundraiser planned for East Providence family after house fire

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Bob DaSilva is working to promote a fundraiser for a family burned out of their home after a fire in East Providence Monday.

The fire happened on Ide Avenue.

The fire chief tells us a woman inside got out, but burned her hand on her way.

There were no working smoke detectors inside the home.

According to the GoFundMe that woman is still in the hospital.
