Funeral for Bristol Patrolman scheduled for Friday

A funeral for the Bristol Police officer who tragically died while trying to save his brother is scheduled for Friday.

Patrolman Richard Jean-Georges, 29, died June 6 in Costa Rica while trying to save his younger brother who was caught in a rip current.

His funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick with a service at 10 a.m. in the Christian Hill Community Church, 56 Tiogue Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery.

A wake is scheduled for Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home.
