Future of Rhode Island Recycled Metals to be discussed at hearing today

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office has filed a motion to end all operations at Rhode Island’s Recycled Metals following a fire that broke out at the scrapyard on Wednesday.
The fire was the second fire on the property in three months.
City leaders throughout the state have called for the business to close since the fires.
After this week’s fire, the owners agreed to stay closed until the hearing that will take place today.
Attorneys for the state and the company are scheduled to make their arguments before R.I. Superior Court at 11 a.m.
