Gasoline prices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts are down five cents from last week.
According to AAA Northeast, these prices make the lowest peak of the year and the lowest local price since early 2009. This is due to crude oil prices gradually plummeting.
The reports confirm that last year, Rhode Island’s average gas price was 75 cents higher. Prices in the Ocean State now have the self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.06 per gallon, down five cents from last week. Massachusetts self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline is now $2.04 per gallon, a decrease of two cents from last week as well.
Prices around both Rhode Island and Mass range from as low as $1.92, to a high of $2.49 per gallon.
