Gas prices up in Rhode Island for second week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gas prices have ticked up again in Rhode Island as more travelers hit the road for the summer season.
The average gas price is up four cents, averaging $3.47 a gallon, which is two cents higher than this time last month and four cents lower than this time last year, according to AAA Northeast.
Rhode Island’s average gasoline price is three cents lower than the national average.
The rise in cost can be attributed to potential Hurricane Beryl impacts on Texas’ oil refineries as well higher demand due to summer travel.
