Genesis Center receives grant for expanded health care training programs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Genesis Center is stepping up to enhance their health care workforce training programs for Rhode Islanders.
U.S. Senator Jack Reed joined Genesis Center President and CEO Shannon Carrol in delivering a $263,000 federal earmark to boost training for CNAs, medical assistants, dental assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other entry-level health care professionals.
Sen. Reed shared that the federal funding aims to prepare more nurses, assistants, and techs to move forward in the Rhode Island health care workforce.
The funding will expand the development programs by acquiring new medical equipment, upgrading technology, and adapting new programs.
