Geoff Bansen covers the solar eclipse from Maine

RANGELEY, ME (WLNE) — Bright blue skies and a lack of high clouds are making western Maine an excellent spot to observe the coming solar eclipse.  

ABC6 Chief Meteorologist Geoff Bansen is covering the total solar eclipse from northern New England and breaking down how that region and weather factors will affect the viewing of this phenomenon.  

The solar eclipse totality in Rangeley will be about the same time as it will be in Providence, but with an extra nine percent.  

In other words, a total blockage of the sun.
