It’s all about technology at the brand new Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville, MA.

“Blackjack anyone?” asks an attractive female virtual host on a large screen.

In exactly 44 days the first ever legal casino will open its doors in Massachusetts. The Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville is putting the finishing touches on its slot parlor – rushing to complete the $225 million dollar project on time.

“This is very exciting,” Vice President of Operations Mike Thoma said.  “Not only for the surrounding area, but for our employees. We have been working for a long time to reach that goal and I think everyone is excited to have that date get here.
The casino will feature a first of its kind for our area: virtual table games.
Those tables feature blackjack as well as 3 Card and Texas hold ’em poker.

But the folks at Plainridge say, it’s about more than just the gambling.

A number of restaurants are under construction including one from local sports hero Doug Flutie.

And there is of course harness racing.

“We’ve got everything,” Vice President of Marketing Michele Collins said.  “We may not be as big as Twin River with the number of machines, we have state of the art machines that have something for everyone who comes in to play.

“I think its going to be a great place to visit and hang out. We have a lot of great restaurants. This is going to be a fun place to be,” Thoma said.
