Getaway driver arrested in Providence armed robbery

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) Police say they have charged a man suspected to be the getaway driver in an armed robbery on Monday.

The man charged with being the getaway driver in this armed robbery is 24-year-old Kpormen Johnson.

The robbery took place at the Family Dollar on Chalkstone Avenue, but several other robberies have taken place in the past few days at a nearby Walgreens and CVS. 

Police are still looking for the suspect who entered the store with a gun, and demanded money.

The suspect was said to be wearing a black mask, and ran out of the story with cash from two drawers. 

Although Johnson was not the man who entered with a gun, he was charged with armed robbery for his role in the crime. 

Police say these robberies are still under investigation as they look for possible suspects involved.
