PROVIDECNE, RI- Surveillance video shows several bullets pierce through the glass door of Black and White Market.
18–year–old Justice McLaren was shot at during the drive-by. “It was just out of nowhere. Just came in to go grab ‘Dutches’ and boom, that’s when everything happened,” said McLaren.
The shooting happened around 11:20 Saturday night. McLaren and his friend walked into the store, the teenage girl waited for them inside the car. She was shot in the face.
McLaren says he doesn’t know why they were targeted, but he says he’s not surprised.
After the shots, the store clerk ran to lock the door– fearing the shooter would come inside.
“I run that’s it. I try to hide,” said store clerk, Essam Khaccabi.
Khaccabi says this isn’t the first shooting outside the store; the most recent one just a couple months ago.
There’s a Providence Police substation located next door. The clerk says no officers were there last night.
No arrests have been made and no word yet on the girl’s condition.
Police say the suspect was driving a black four–door vehicle.
