Glocester man arrested after hitting Police cruiser

GLOCESTOR, RI_ A man was arrested after hitting a Police cruiser, allegedly being intoxicated and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

The Glocestor Police Department responded to a call on March 27, at 10:15 pm where a Police cruiser was involved in an auto-accident.

Police arrived to the area of Putnam Pike and Found David Deschepper, 50, of Glocester, and driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck, showing signs of intoxication. He was then arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Deschepper refused to submit to a chemical test and was transported to Fatima Hospital with non-life threatening injuries by the Chepachet Fire Department.

He was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He is due in the Third District Court on April 8, and his current medical condition is unknown.

Sergeant Kimberly Bertholic , a 16 year Veteran of the Glocester Police Department and operator of the Ford Explorer Police crusier, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by the Harmony Fire Department with non-life threatening injuries.

Sergeant Bertholic is currently recovering at home.
