Glocester Police arrest 2 for alleged child endangerment

GLOCESTER, R.I. (WLNE) — The Glocester Police Department said that a man and a woman were charged with child endangerment after an incident on Sept. 2.
41-year-old Danielle Bennett and 41-year-old Jose Lopez were both charged with child endangerment.
Police were originally called to a motel for a tenant-landlord dispute in which “suspected drug activity” was discovered.
The department said it was believed that an 18-month-old child was living in the area where the drug activity occurred.
A Department of Children, Youth, and Families allegedly tracked the child and their guardian to Woonsocket, and an evaluation of the child at Hasbro Children’s Hospital allegedly discovered evidence of cocaine and fentanyl exposure.
Police said that both Bennett and Lopez had “extensive prior contacts with law enforcement, including drug-related offenses.”
