GoFundMe created for 20-year-old killed in fatal motorcycle crash in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Family and friends of a 20-year-old from North Smithfield, who died after he lost control of his bike in Woonsocket, are raising money for his funeral expenses.

Joseph Rossi died on Saturday, August 24 while he was driving his motorcycle on Truman Drive in Woonsocket when he crashed.

Police told ABC6 that speed was believed to be a factor.

In a GoFundMe post, loved ones of Rossi wrote that his 21st birthday was upcoming next month.

Rossi was also a recent North Smithfield graduate and member of the track team, according to a Facebook post shared by Rhode Island Jumpineers.

“Joseph is loved by his extensive family and many friends and will be greatly missed and grieved for, especially from his parents Anthony and Tonya, and his elder brother Anthony. In these times it’s important to offer support and kindness where we can for those grieving,” states the GoFundMe.

So far, the GoFundMe has raised over $21,000.
