GoFundMe created for Pawtucket man who died in Providence car crash

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Friends and family of a 29-year-old Pawtucket man who was killed in a car crash yesterday are raising money online for his funeral expenses.

Police said Joshua Diaz died on Wednesday, August 7 after his sedan collided with a dump truck on Plainfield Street around 2 p.m.

His car suffered “heavy front end and windshield damage,” when it collided with the truck at the area of Plainfield Street at Union Avenue in Providence.

Diaz taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

A GoFundMe has since been created to aid his family with funeral costs.

According to the GoFundMe, Diaz was a father and leaves children behind.

“He was an amazing father, boyfriend, son and friend to many. He knew how to brighten a room and spark a conversation with anyone,” states the GoFundMe.

So far, $1,520 has been raised.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
