Golden State Overcomes Cleveland to Move Within One Game of Another NBA Title

  CLEVELAND (AP) _ Stephen Curry rediscovered his long-range shooting touch while the Golden State Warriors pulled within one victory of their second straight NBA title.

        Curry poured in 38 points and the Warriors grabbed a three-games-to-one lead in the finals by downing the Cavaliers 108-97 in Cleveland. The Warriors shot 17-for-36 from 3-point range, with Curry hitting seven of his 13 attempts.

        The game was tied at 81 until Golden State went on a 12-3 run to go ahead by nine with 5:56 to play.

        Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes each drained four treys for the Warriors, who trailed by eight with 9:29 left in the third quarter before going on a 19-9 run. Thompson finished with 25 points and Barnes had 14 and eight rebounds.

        Kyrie (KY’-ree) Irving scored 34 points to lead the Cavaliers in scoring for the second straight game. LeBron James fell one assist shy of a triple-double, contributing 25 points and 13 rebounds.

        The Warriors can wrap up the NBA championship Monday in Oakland.
