PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) –  Governor Dan McKee’s now-former Chief of Staff is stepping down effective immediately.

Tony Silva recently faced controversy over his involvement with a wetlands development in Cumberland. Last week, he handed in his resignation as the Deputy Director of Emergency Management there.

Also last week, Gov. McKee asked the Rhode Island Attorney General to investigate Silva over the wetlands controversy.

Senior Deputy Chief of Staff Antonio Afonso will take over as Chief of Staff for now.
