PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo has named three people to the state labor relations board.

Raimondo says she’ll ask the Senate to confirm Aronda Kirby, Tobias Lederberg and Harry Winthrop.

Raimondo says the board works to protect the state’s workforce and she’s grateful to these three people for agreeing to serve.

The board’s outgoing members are Elizabeth Dolan, Peder Schaefer and Bruce A. Wolpert.

The board is housed within the Department of Labor and Training. Its seven members are appointed by the governor to six-year terms.

Kirby, the board’s public representative, is a technology consultant. Lederberg, the board’s management representative, has two decades of experience in business and real estate law.

Winthrop, the board’s local government representative, served as the mayor of Newport and was an executive at General Dynamics Electric Boat.
