Great 4th of July Weekend On The Way
Hot, humid, and unsettled for next week

Happy Independence Day!
Before we talk about the gorgeous weekend on the way, we have to address the elephant in the room – we had a strong line of storms move through last night. According to RI Energy, all power outages have now been fixed, but continue to use caution this morning for the possibility of downed trees, branches, etc. The good news is, we have nothing like that in the forecast for this weekend. We lucked out – it’s the first time we have a dry 4th in store since 2022, and only the 8th dry weekend so far in 2025!
Highs today will be in the low 80s inland and the upper 70s along the South Coast. Humidity is also much lower and more comfortable today with dewpoints in the 50s. A few puffy fair-weather cumulus clouds this afternoon will provide some occasional shade, but the UV index is high – so be sure to pack that sunscreen if you’re headed to the beach this afternoon.
Sunday, we turn up the heat and humidity with highs in the upper 80s and heat index values reaching into the 90s. This continues into next week, with chances for rain beginning Tuesday. We’re also watching the tropics – a low pressure system developing off the coast of the Carolinas has a 50% chance of becoming a named tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. Hurricane Hunter aircraft are scheduled to investigate the storm later today. If we see any impacts as a result, it would be some rainfall during the middle part of next week.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the 4th!
