Great Feast of the Holy Ghost kicks off in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Residents and officials in Fall River are getting ready this morning for the start of the Great Feast of the Holy Ghost.

This will be the 41st year the festival has been put on.

Tonight, the feast begins at 5 with a recitation of the rosary, a blessing, and serving of the soups in adoration of the divine Holy Spirit.

The four day feast will be held close to Kennedy Park.

To accommodate that, police will be issuing special parking permits for residents who live near the park.

Those permits will be available by Fall River police from 2 to 6 today at the police station.

The feast runs through Sunday.
