Grocery stores packed with last minute shoppers

Local stores were packed with people trying to check those last minute items off their lists this Thanksgiving Eve.
"Stressful, full crazy just crazy. It was a black Friday for food basically,” said Maria Rivera.
"It was so crowded it was just like oh my God,” said Joshua Ackert.
Parking was hard to come by at the Stop and Shop on West River Street in Providence.
"Crazy, nuts. I’ll never do this the night before Thanksgiving again,” said Heather Walden.
Most shoppers we spoke with on a mission for very specific items with less than 24 hours until Turkey Day.
"We had to get root vegetables, last minute napkins, marshmallows," said Melissa Benjamin.
Some telling us procrastinating until the last minute means making some extra stops.
"I got one bunch of collie greens so that goes to show you there’s hardly anything in there for thanksgiving,” said Marlene Davis. "I got to go to another store to see if I can find some more collie greens."
On social media, the frustration of last minute shopping evident!.
One tweet reading, "Grocery shopping the day before Thanksgiving, God help me."
Another reads, “Last minute trip to the store. It is grocerypocalypse at Star Market. Every cart in use, shelves emptied."
