Ground-breaking for dog park honoring animal control officer happening Saturday

TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE)- Animal control officer Raymond F. Jones will be honored Saturday when a dog park will be dedicated in his honor.
A celebration will be held Saturday at noon for the ground-breaking of the Raymond F. Jones Memorial Dog Park. The celebration will include members of Jones’ family and the Tiverton Town Council. Jones passed away in 2019.
Planning for the dog park began 10 years ago, and it is set to formally open this summer.
The dog park will feature fenced-off areas for small and large dogs, park benches, and other amenities. It will be located next to the Tiverton Town Library.
The park was entirely community funded. If you are a community member who wants to donate time or supplies, you can email RFJonesMemorialDogPark@gmail.com.
