Hamilton Family Aquarium to open in Newport

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Save the Bay will be opening a new aquarium in Newport on Thursday, March 28 after a three-year renovation.
The multi-million dollar aquarium will allow guests to “discover the world beneath the waves of Narragansett Bay.”
The aquarium will feature over a dozen exhibits that focus on the Bay’s habitats, with 7,000 square feet of discovery opportunities, three touch tanks and an augmented reality watershed model.
Species from and returned to the Narragansett Bay are also featured.
“When we open the doors to the new Aquarium, we’ll be opening the doors to education, inspiration and connection to Narragansett Bay,” said Topher Hamblett, Save The Bay Executive Director. “No matter who you are, you will be able to learn something new about the Bay here, and we can’t wait to share this new opportunity with the whole community.”
