PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The hit Broadway musical Hamilton is now well underway at PPAC
The tour rolled into Providence on Monday to prepare for a Tuesday opening.
Workers quickly got the trucks unloaded and the stage ready for the shows over the next few weeks.
ABC6 sat down with Paul Oakley Stovall, who plays George Washington, who said there’s something special about performing Hamilton in New England.
“It feels to me like the audiences here and all through New England, know these characters more. They know the history more, this is a part of their world,” said Stovall.
“Not that it’s pressure, but you feel the richness of these men and women could’ve and probably did walk up and down these streets and you can feel the size of the streets are smaller in certain areas and you can really imagine ‘wow they were actually here.’”
Many people think all of the shows for Hamilton are sold out, but tickets are still available for many of the performances.
They can be purchased on the PPAC website or by calling the box office.
Select tickets are also available for less than face value in the #HAM4HAM lottery where tickets are being given to lucky contestants for just $10.
The show runs at PPAC through Aug. 11.
