Harris won RI, but Trump made big gains in the state
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Vice President Kamala Harris won the state of Rhode Island during Tuesday’s presidential election, however now president-elect Donald Trump performed better than he did back in 2020 against President Joe Biden.
In 2020, Biden won Rhode Island with 59.4% of the vote, over Trump who received 38.6%. This year, Harris received 55.7% of the vote, over Trump who received 42.1%.
In 2024, Woonsocket, West Warwick, and Richmond all turned red.
Trump also did better in Massachusetts, as he received 32.1% back in 2020 and 36.5% in 2024.
