Hazy, Hot & Humid Thursday

Our last day of Spring is going to be downright Summery! We are expecting the fog to burn off by mid-morning followed by increasing sunshine. humidity will increase as well and temperatures inland will top near 90 (80 along the coast). Due to a combination of high heat and high humidity, a Heat Advisory has been issued for Providence County and northern Bristol County, Mass. Heat indices could feel as hot as 95-100, making for hazardous conditions for those sensitive to high heat and humidity. Drink plenty of water, limit outdoor activities during the peak of the heating from late morning through mid afternoon, seek air conditioning and don’t leave kids or pets in the car today. A cold front coming through this evening will bring a chance of an isolated shower or even a thunderstorm. Should we get a thunderstorm, it will have the potential to be severe with damaging winds and hail. Friday starts off the Summer with cooler temperatures in the lower-80s and much more comfortable humidity, along with plenty of sunshine. Saturday is proving to be a little bit of a challenge as models are now showing a chance of showers for the early to mid-morning, otherwise most of the day is still looking mostly sunny and warm with highs near 85. Saturday night into Sunday morning there is the slightest chance of showers as a warm front moves through. Sunday will become quite muggy with partly cloudy skies and highs near 83. Next week we are in for quite the warm up! We have the chance of making a run at a heat wave. Monday through Wednesday will have high temperatures meeting or topping 90. All three days will be mostly sunny and humid with heat peaking on Tuesday as interior temperatures top out at 97.
