Head-on collision claims both drivers’ lives in Uxbridge

UXBRIDGE, Mass. (WLNE) Both drivers in a head-on collision in Uxbridge Wednesday have now succumbed to their injuries, the Worcester County District Attorney’s office confirmed.

The crash occurred when a sedan travelling west collided with a dump truck travelling east on Route 16, according to a statement from the Uxbridge Police Department.

The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead on the scene.

The identities of the drivers have not been released, pending notification of family, police said.

The incident continues to be investigated by Uxbridge police and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Collision Reconstruction team.

Motorists had been asked to avoid the area.
