Healthcare workers rally at Rhode Island State House

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A coalition of union healthcare workers, elected officials, and members of the community rallied at the Rhode Island State House Saturday to demand the state protect healthcare workers and access.
Organizers with 1199 SEIU New England said the rally protested both proposed cuts to Medicare and Medicaid by the Trump administration as well as cuts to healthcare funding that they said was in Gov. Dan McKee’s budget.
They added that nearly 3,000 healthcare workers in the state had signed a “no confidence” petition in the governor.
