Hearing Set for Monday for Former Providence School Official Accused of Giving Unwanted Foot Massage to Boy

Providence, RI (WLNE) – A hearing is scheduled Monday morning for a former network superintendent with Providence schools.  Olayinka Alege is scheduled for a status hearing.

Alege is accused of rubbing a boy’s foot against the boy’s wishes at a Warwick gym. Alege was charged with misdemeanor simple assault back in the spring. He resigned from his position shortly after.

Alege previously worked in Tampa, Florida. According to a report from the “South Florida Sun-Sentinel” in 2009, five boys told deputies that then-assistant principal Alege asked them on numerous occasions to take off a shoe and sock behind closed doors, and allow him to ‘pop’ their toes.
