Heat and Humidity Return This Week
Some strong-to-severe storms possible tomorrow evening
Happy Monday!
Yesterday was a hot one – in fact, we got up to 90 at TF Green. And although I don’t think today will be quite as hot, temperatures will be in the mid 80s and the humidity will remain. Those of you along the South Coast will run a little bit cooler, with the seabreeze keeping temps around 80. If you’re headed to the beach, keep in mind the UV index will be high this afternoon, so you’ll need to pack that sunscreen. Overall, a nice day on tap.
Things change a bit tomorrow with a one-two punch of fronts. A warm front moving through early in the morning may bring a few showers or a rumble as you’re waking up, but this warm front will also bring warm, humid air that will serve as fuel for thunderstorms late in the day. The timeframe we’re looking at for these storms is 6-11pm, and we will hone in on this a bit tomorrow. Heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds are not out of the question, and these storms could be severe. Make sure you have a way to stay weather aware and receive alerts if necessary tomorrow afternoon.
We have another chance for some showers and storms Thursday afternoon, but these look more like garden-variety thunderstorms and are less likely to be severe. Other than that, the holiday weekend is looking fantastic! Temperatures will be in the low-to-mid 80s with lots of sunshine. Perfect for any 4th plans you may have.
Have a great day!
