Heat, Humidity and a Few Rumbles of Thunder
Get ready for the heat and humidity… and the potential for a thunderstorm!
Overnight tonight, we’ll stay muggy and mostly cloudy. Expect patchy fog as well. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s. We could also squeak out a shower, though most of the precipitation stays to our north and west.
Tomorrow, the heat and humidity continue to build. Highs will be in the low 80s for the coast and mid to upper 80s inland. A few inland cities could even sneak into the 90s. With the humidity, it will feel like the low to mid 90s by the afternoon! For that reason, there’s a Heat Advisory in place for Providence County and northern Bristol County (MA). Make sure you’re taking breaks in the A/C, drinking plenty of water, and wear light, loose clothing outside.
The heat and humidity will also act as ingredients for thunderstorms across New England. Those storms could be strong to severe tomorrow afternoon and evening for parts of Western CT, MA, and for Vermont as well. These storms could pack gusty winds, heavy rain and some hail as well. An isolated tornado for those areas is a low possibility, but also isn’t out of the question.
As for us? Storms look like they’ll “fall apart” before reaching us. That said, one or two could sneak across the state line between 5-11 PM here at home. Make sure you’re staying weather aware, and of course we’ll be here to guide you through any rough and tumble weather.
After the front clears out, Friday looks much nicer! It’ll be breezy, but sunnier with highs in the low 80s.
Saturday looks nice too! We’ll be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s. We could catch a stray shower overnight into early Sunday morning, but any rain should be short-lived and lead into a nice Sunday overall!
