Helicopter crash on Cape Cod

Chatham, Mass- A helicopter pilot and his passenger were seriously injured when the aircraft crashed into a pond on Cape Cod. The 2002 Robinson helicopter crashed near the property of 204 Crows Pond rd in Chatham. Rescue crews found the helicopter partially submerged in the water when they arrived.

The pilot, John Ryan, of Scituate ,and passenger Tyra Pacheco were taking real estate photos when the chopper went down.

Ryan was initially taken to Cape Cod hospital in Hyannis with serious injuries, but was then transferred to a Boston hospital. Pacheco was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital with critical injuries.

The FAA will investigate the crash on Saturday
