High school in Fall River given shelter-in-place order after threat
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said that Durfee High School was put into shelter-in-place status after receiving a threat Thursday.
The department said that officers and school administrators performed an investigation and believe that the threat was a “swatting-style call,” due to giving inaccurate information about the school.
“We ask the public to refrain from responding to or approaching the school, as doing so may create unnecessary complications and traffic congestion,” the department also said.
