High School State Golf Championships Tee Off For First Round In Cranston

The first round of the high school state golf championships teeing off at Cranston Country Club Tuesday. The leader after 18 holes is Moses Brown’s Riley Griffin, who came in to the clubhouse with an even 71. Two-time defending state champion Will Dickson, Griffin’s teammate, finished with a +3 74. Caroline Farber of Moses Brown, who won the girls state championship last week in Newport, also shot a 74, along with Classical sophomore Patrick Welch. The second and final round is Wednesday.
