Hit-and-run leaves man in critical condition in Providence, police say

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said Monday that a man is in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash last week.

Police said that 53-year-old Edward Deleon was hit by a car while crossing Broad Street — near Roger Williams Park — at about 8 p.m. Friday.

Deleon was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Police said that they found the car that hit Deleon, but haven’t arrested the driver yet.

No further information was immediately released.
