Holiday travelers unphased by Ballard’s brawl

Block Island Labor Day

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE)– Hundreds of Labor Day travelers flocking to and from Block Island said they were unphased by the Ballard’s brawl over three weeks ago.

“It was like a fluke really,” said one traveler from Charlestown. “It’s not typical of Block Island.”
After winning the appeal of their liquor license, after the brawl that led to one arrest, some said they would keep their distance from the Ballard’s.
One traveler explained, “I used to like it, but it got a little out of control. So, I hope they can tone it down. They do good business. He’s a good business owner, but they let it get out of control.”
